Tweedsmuir Park Lodge

Hailed by CNN Travel as one of British Columbia's best luxury lodges, Tweedsmuir Park Lodge is a cosy destination located on the banks of the Atnarko River and surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. It's the perfect base from which to explore this beautiful wilderness area and one of the best places to spot grizzly bears fishing the rivers during salmon-spawning season. En-suite facilities, a hot tub and great views over the lawns where you often get grizzlies first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Cosy log chalets with fires to keep you warm on those colder evenings.

Spirit Bear Lodge

Spirit Bear Lodge is a unique concept built and run by the local Kitasoo/Xaixai community. The lodge itself directly reflects their culture as it has been built in the style of their traditional long houses, the interior of the lodge itself and the furnishings used within are also reflective of their culture with many antiques used to decorate the space. There are twelve rooms available within the lodge, all of which are en-suite and complete with a king size bed, which can be separated into twins if preferred. All of the windows within the bedrooms and main area of the lodge are designed in a way to give you fantastic vistas across the river, Great Bear Rainforest and the Pacific Ocean; they are almost floor to ceiling to ensure you get the best chance of spotting as much wildlife from the comfort of your room as possible.

Island Roamer

The Island Roamer is a certified Canadian Ministry of Transport vessel and meets all safety standards including necessary equipment, electronic navigation aids etc that you would expect of a boat of this quality. The advantage of this unique boat is that it permits you access to some truly remote wildlife regions and maximises your chances of seeing as much as possible including Spirit Bears, Humpback Whales and more! There are eight double cabins with upper and lower bunks, three bathrooms with hot showers (for guests and crew) and a spacious lounge and library to relax in on those lazy evenings. A large covered seating area on deck also provides the perfect place from where to admire your surroundings but keep out of the sometimes mild weather. The boat is intimate enough for guests to be able to build a rapport with each other and the crew, but provides enough space for ample privacy. There are smaller inflatables carried onboard for excursions closer to the shore.

Nimmo Bay

Nimmo Bay is a unique and remote resort situated within the Great Bear Rainforest of British Colombia. With accommodation comprised of stunning buildings which feel like home and friendly hosts with a great focus on preserving the environment this is a fantastic base in which to explore your surroundings. With heli-hiking, fly-fishing and even daily yoga sessions taking place on the floating dock this is a place of great serenity. There are nine individual cabins available at Nimmo Bay; six of which are located on the riverbanks with another three further back into the lush rainforest. Each of these beautiful buildings were created with the environment in mind; located around nature as you can listen to the tide from the intertidal cabins and the spring water waterfall from the streamside cabins. All the cabins have two bedrooms and one bathroom all furnished with solid wood furniture. Knight Inlet Lodge

In Glendale Cove, 60km from the mouth of Knight Inlet, you will find the floating Knight Inlet Lodge. Surrounded by the dramatic snow peaked mountains that capture the essence of Canada’s rugged coastline, Knight Inlet Lodge is at the heart of a natural paradise. This is a great place to view grizzly bears, with sometimes as many as 50 within a 10km radius of the lodge in the autumn when the salmon are spawning. Originally a logging camp, the lodge still has some of the features representing this time in the early 1940’s as well as modern influences where the lodge has grown and been refurbished. The lodge was converted to a modern, comfortable facility in 2013 for the purpose of wilderness tourism. Guest cabins are comfortable and cosy, a great place to come back to after tracking bears in the great outdoors!
