Natural World Safaris (NWS) is a fully ABTOT and ATOL bonded Travel Outfitter based in Brighton in the UK. Our registered company number is 05649357. We specialise in creating extraordinary journeys, putting our clients in the right place at the right time for the most incredible wildlife experiences.
This policy has been designed to explain the information we collect, how and why we collect it, and when it is used. We will keep this webpage as up-to-date as possible, reviewing our policies periodically to ensure openness and clarity between all parties.
Personal data relates to any living individual who can be identified from that data. As of May 25, 2018, in the European Union the processing of personal data is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). At NWS, we endeavour to treat everyone’s data in the same secure manner, wherever you are from.
How we collect data
When you call us, fill out a website form, email us, or book a safari with us, all the data relevant to your safari (or potential safari) is collected securely in our database, and - depending on your chosen contact method - our emails.
To unsubscribe from our marketing email newsletters, please do so via the unsubscribe or mailing preferences options at the bottom of our marketing emails, or by contacting us. Please note that if you are already subscribed to our mailing list, leaving the field 'I would like to receive emails about trip offers and availability updates' blank on any of our contact forms will not remove you from the mailing list.
Data we collect
Personal data collected through a contact form or brochure download will usually include your full name, email, destination or safari of interest, budget, and any other information you choose to divulge to us at this stage. When you book a safari, more detailed data such as your address, birth date, passport details, and health are collected. We also collect information on your interests to ensure the most personal experience and perfectly designed safari for you.
What your data is used for
Your personal data is used to fulfil our obligations to you, which include:
We never sell or rent data to third parties. When you book, this data will be passed on to your agent on the ground to ensure you have a safe safari, and your arrangements are held.
At NWS, we use the information that is provided to us only for the reason it was gathered. We may use your information to process your safari enquiry, ask for feedback on our services, market new safaris (when permitted by you), notify you of changes to your booking, or plan your holiday.
When you send us your blog and images after returning from your safari, you are giving us permission to upload them onto the blog section of our website. We may also ask you if we can use your images for marketing purposes (throughout the website and in our digital newsletter, as well as on social media such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter). We will always credit and tag these where relevant. The blog will include your name, photos and the content you have written for the blog. If you do not want your actual name to be shown, please just let us know and we can remove it.
If you give us consent, we will use your name and email address for marketing purposes via our digital newsletter. We will also occasionally send you more tailored marketing depending on your interests, which can be divulged through brochure downloads or phone calls with our team.
Our email newsletters are sent using MailChimp. MailChimp safely stores your name, email address and location so we can send you relevant marketing email campaigns and analyse responses. MailChimp may need to process personal data to perform some critical tasks, such as preventing abuse, and providing support. You can opt out or in to our e-marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails, signing up to our newsletter via the sign-up page, or emailing digital@naturalworldsafaris.com with your request.
We will never sell or rent your data to third parties, only sharing information when it is required to fulfil our obligation to you.
Data submitted through our forms is accessible only by Natural World Safaris and our developers. Our developers do not process or store your personal information for any purpose, nor do they pass it on to any third parties. Although our website and communications may contain links to other websites, we are not the owners of these sites, and therefore are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites.
Whilst browsing our website you may encounter pop-ups. These are supplied by WisePops; you can learn about how they store data here.
Our images are hosted on a Content Delivery Network (CDN), which works to provide fast delivery of internet content. We use a CDN primarily to ensure the fastest possible delivery of images. Our CDN provider is Cloudflare, who are fully committed to keeping your data secure, and complying with the GDPR. Find out more about their data management here.
We use a minimal number of cookies on our website. To find out more about this, head to our dedicated cookies page here. Cookies are harmless when used responsibly.
After visiting our site, you may see ads for Natural World Safaris on other websites; this is called Google remarketing. We use Google remarketing for advertising purposes; you can edit your preferences or turn off remarketing here. We also use Google Analytics to review our website and find out such things as how many visitors we’ve had to a particular page. NWS and Google do not attempt to identify anyone from this data. If you do not want your visit to be accessible via Google Analytics, you can opt out here.
We post testimonials to our website periodically. There is no way of identifying you from the data we publish on testimonials on the website. The data included on our testimonials includes first name, surname initial, an excerpt from your feedback and your star rating; it is not possible to identify a person from these testimonials.
The time period for which we keep data depends on the data type. Most of our data is retained for three (3) years. Legally, some financial information must be kept on our files for six (6) years. Data is not kept on our systems for longer than is needed, and is periodically reviewed and removed.
We have made every effort to ensure your data is stored and processed securely.
Under the GDPR, you have the right to view, edit or request the removal of your personal data from NWS.
