Experience the Arctic like a true explorer via tented camp and husky sled, looking out for the Northern Lights and spotting wildlife in Svalbard's dramatic wilderness. Begin your adventure into the wilderness at Basecamp Hotel before spending two days camping under the stars, scouring for the magical Northern Lights and exploring the far reaches of the Arctic. Watch for wildlife and travel by husky sled before recuperating in luxury with a stay at Isfjord Radio, a converted radio station turned comfortable wilderness hotel.
On arrival into Longyearbyen, you will be transferred by shuttle bus to your hotel and spend your first day exploring this enchanting city. The next day make your way to the Trapper's Station in Bolterdalen to be met by 90 excited Alaskan huskies.
Once you’ve harnessed your team, you will head out into Bolterdalen towards Isfjord Radio, where you will experience your first lunch in the wilderness. Your first day will see you drive past majestic mountains. You will set up camp approximately halfway to Isfjord Radio, where you will look after your team before enjoying a nice meal in the tent. Spend your first night outside underneath the stars, you may even spot the Northern Lights.
After breakfast, you will head out with your guide and team for a short dog sled trip before returning to the station in time for a hot lunch. The afternoon will be spent on a guided tour of the station area. If you’re up to it you can also experience a bath in the Arctic Sea and a trip to the sauna afterwards, followed by a three-course dinner.views around you. Later in the day you will arrive into Isfjord Radio where you will be welcomed by your host, and enjoy a three-course meal.
The next day, after breakfast you will head out with your guide for a short dog sled trip before returning to the station in time for a hot lunch. The afternoon will be spent on a guided tour of the station area. If you’re up to it you can also experience a bath in the Arctic Sea and a trip to the sauna afterwards, followed by a three-course dinner.
Begin the journey back to civilisation with interesting stops along the way, returning back to Longyearbyen.
Step outside of Longyearbyen and into the wilderness, spend two nights in a tented camp in the wild and try to spot the Aurora Borealis. Look for wildlife hiding between snowy peaks and vast white landscapes.
Experience and learn the adventurous way of travelling with a husky sled. Throughout your trip, you will need to take care of your own team, but don’t worry – your guide will be on hand to help and will show you how to harness your dogs and mush your own team.
Nestled in the centre of the capital of Svalbard, Longyearbyen, this unique hotel is one of the most authentic in this former mining town.
