It is common to spot, monkeys, macaws and several species of birds. There are many trails that snake through various forests and habitats. There are over 500 species of birds and over 1800 different types of butterfly. On the rocky trail there is a mammal clay lick frequented by tapirs, peccaries, giant anteaters among other mammals. A 6-metre screened treehouse has been erected for ease of viewing. Boat rides, or canoeing along the Cristalino River give another opportunity to spot animals in the canopy and a floating deck above the river is great for swimming or resting when you’re not out looking for wildlife.

Northern Pantanal Jaguar Viewing

Around 09:30, you continue your adventure continuing south down the Transpantaneira Highway to Porto Jofre. En route you will have the chance to stop and enjoy the views and look out for the resident wildlife. Stop for lunch on the way before continuing your journey. Jaguars are often spotted in this area. They are often seen along the final 35 kilometres of the road before getting to Jofre so keep a keen eye glued to the road for possible sightings. On arrival to your riverside hotel, settle in a relax for the evening. Your jaguar expedition begins tomorrow!
