Lodge Details

Style

A grand and exquisite lodge, with large chalets for guests and a relaxed, African charm.

Setting

Surrounded by water, where thirsty game frequents, the lodge is wonderfully shaded by ebony trees and natal mahogany amidst one of the most prolific wildlife areas of South Luangwa National Park.

Accommodation & Facilities

There are 18 guest chalets consisting of 2 suites, 3 doubles, 3 family rooms and 10 twins. All chalets are en-suite with impressive bathrooms, all have panoramic walk in showers, toilets and twin basins – suites also have bath. Each chalet has a private deck with its own spectacular vantage point of the lagoons.

Family rooms have a king size bed upstairs and a smaller ‘day bed’ downstairs in the sitting area, whereas suites have an elevated sitting area providing a larger lounge area than twins or doubles.

The main area is open plan, incorporating reception, bar, dining and lounge areas, encompassed by a huge thatch roof held up by palm poles. In front of the lounge is a large deck area (boma), where you will find the swimming pool and stunning vistas of the landscape beyond. There is also a library dedicated to nature and conservation issues, curio shop, Bush Spa and a fully stocked bar.

Dining

Delicious meals can be served in a variety of locations, limited only by the imagination, from dinners out in the bush to candlelit meals back in camp on the boma overlooking the lagoon.

Activities

Guides at Mfuwe Lodge are experienced, knowledgeable and eager to inspire. There are game drives setting off so you capture wildlife at its most active, first light and early afternoon. Guided walks are available at 24 hours notice as well as visits to the local village, school and textile company.
