Classic Botswana Safari

With around a week to spend in Botswana we suggest combining Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta, staying in both a 'wet' camp and 'dry' camp in the Delta to really get a feel for the iconic landscapes of Botswana. You'll get to explore this vast area that includes wide-open floodplains, waterways, marshes and lagoons. This may also include an example of what you may do on days, like two or three nights in Chobe National Park, two or three nights in the Okavango Delta, and two nights in another camp in the Okavango Delta.

What to expect?

Remarkable Wildlife interactions: This journey offers amazing interactions with some of Africa's most recognisable creatures. Botswana is a wildlife enthusiast's dream come true. Elephant herds, typically numbering in the thousands, can be seen in their natural habitat as they congregate around the life-giving Chobe River. Along with significant populations of buffalo and hippo, the Okavango Delta is home to predator species including lions, leopards, and wild dogs. Every safari or game drive is a different adventure, and you never know what amazing sights are in store for you.

Glide across the Okavango Delta's complex network of canals in traditional mokoro boats, for one of the trip's most unforgettable experiences. You may get up close and personal with the aquatic and birds of the delta by being silently poled across the calm waterways by your knowledgeable local guides. This leisurely method of exploring offers a calm and personal viewpoint on the captivating beauty of the delta.

Magnificent Birdwatching: With over 590 bird species identified in the Okavango Delta alone, Botswana is a birdwatcher's dream come true. You'll get to see a variety of bird species in their native environments, from colourful kingfishers to magnificent African fish eagles. This tour will offer many of possibilities for birding, whether you're a serious birdwatcher or just enjoy the beauty of these avian animals.

Starry Nights: The night sky in Botswana's vast open areas comes alive with a stunning display of stars as the sun sets. Unmatched stargazing is possible in the forest because to the lack of light pollution. Enjoy your evenings around the campfire, taking in the sounds of the African night while you stare up at the constellations in the southern hemisphere.
