A beautiful safari in the remote western side of Tanzania. Search for big cats; including leopard, lion and cheetah, and big game, before tracking the chimpanzees of Mahale. This eight day itinerary heads straight to Katavi National Park where you will explore via game drives and walking safaris. This area is excellent for the big cats, as well as elephants, crocodiles and more, and it is so peaceful, you are almost guaranteed to see no other tourists during your stay. From here you head to the Mahale Mountains, home to one of the largest troops of habituated chimpanzees, spend a few days tracking them and some time relaxing on the beach before you fly back to Arusha for your international flight home. This is a short itinerary that can easily be combined with Tanzania's incredible beaches or other destinations in East Africa.
Take the chance to explore Tanzania in style and comfort, beginning in Arusha before heading out to Tarangire National Park. Well-known for its congregating herds of elephant, the park is comprised mainly of arid, open plains filled with more vegetation than the Serengeti, including baobab trees and acacia, with a network of swamps dominating the land to the south. Then head to the Ngorongoro crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera is world-renowned for being the most incredible sanctuary for wildlife, enjoying the highest density of mammals in Africa across its crater floor, although please be concious it can get quite busy here, staying on the rim will give you the chance to get in there first. Then you will head to the would famous serengeti and where you stay will depend on the time of year to give you the best opportunity for excellent wildlife viewing. Then head to the beach for a relaxing end of your trip to relax and reflect on your wonderful experience.
Namiri Plains
