Antarctic Citizen Science Voyage

An exciting journey throughout the Antarctic Peninsula, exploring incredible landscapes and watching for endearing wildlife, including Gentoo penguins, humpback whales, minke whales and much more. There are seven species of penguin and at least three species of whales that you could encounter throughout your journey so keep your eyes peeled at all times for glimpses of wildlife. When wildlife is spotted from the bridge, your captain will endeavour to manoeuvre towards the sightings wherever possible, or you may head out on a Zodiac excursion for better photographic opportunities. Your exact expedition route may vary depending on local ice and weather conditions, the availability of landing sites and opportunities to see wildlife.

• Incredible Birdlife: Explore the stunning waterways which surround the Great White Continent that is Antarctica. Go in search of Adelie, Gentoo and chinstrap Penguins as well as a range of whales all whilst being followed by a vast array of Antarctic birdlife such as albatross.
• Citizen Science Program: Get a first-hand look at how climate change is impacting birds, sea life, glaciers, oceans, and weather patterns, and help scientists better understand our evolving planet by joining the on board Citizen Science program.

M/S Seaventure is a world-class small ship, with the highest ice class awarded to a passenger ship, meaning it can explore coves, bays and channels not typically accessible. Refurbished in 2020, this ship has a custom-built citizen science lab, heated saltwater pool, sauna, and fitness centre. The extra storage space on the ship also means more equipment can be carried so guests can participate in activities like kayaking, snowshoeing, and camping. With room for only 139 passengers, the Seaventure offers a small ship experience with a more close-up engagement with the land and wildlife around.
